Goodbye NYC
Saturday night, we decided to go to a night club. We went to a tiny, underground place playing minimal techno. It was quite cool. I haven’t gone dancing in ages, so it was good to let loose and boogie…
So since Sunday was my last day, I wanted to do some walking around and some last minute shopping. After checking out of the hotel, I was by myself and decided to do a little exploring of the Upper West Side. I wandered into a street fair. Of course, I had to spend the money burning a hole in my pocket (and then run to an ATM to spend some more). I got some really neat gifts for friends (and myself).

There were all kinds of ethnic groups selling their cultural items. And I noticed that I had never before heard so many different languages being spoken in one place. I really enjoyed myself.
Finally, we took a traffic swamped cab ride back to the airport, and ended my NYC adventure.

I left NYC with tons of $$ worth of merchandise, great memories, a new-found love for the City, and a dirtier mouth… I <3 NY.

Shopping Therapy
Is there anything better than shopping?
I have spent a great deal of time (and money) shopping this weekend and it’s showing no signs of letting up. I’ve heard people say a million times that NYC has the best shopping. I have always disagreed, siding with Miami as the best. Although I still like the Miami fashion better than I’ve seen anywhere else, I have never been able to experience the magnitude of the shopping here in NYC.

Everywhere I turn, there’s another store. And in front of that store, there’s a stand selling something else. It’s almost sensory overload. I’m totally loving shopping in SoHo. Cool things to buy everywhere I look.

There’s a stand in front of where I’m staying that sells finger puppets… WTF? Finger puppets? But it’s cool. Maybe I’ll buy one…
Well, I’ve got to go… Still more shopping to do…

I F***ing Rode Through Times Square on a Bike
Sightseeing, shopping, etc. But today was all about bikes.
My friends and I joined a moonlight bike ride through Central Park. It was really nice, but I was on a borrowed bike so I’m in a bit of pain today. The park is HUGE… I wasn’t expecting how big and beautiful it is.

After the ride, in order to get back to where we were staying, one friend suggested riding through Times Square… Well, I was a bit freaked out because of NY traffic, but I went for it. So I earned my “I f***ing rode through Times Square” badge.

After the ride, we went to a crazy Japanese restaurant in the Village. Along with many other regulations, the menu stipulated that there must be no masturbating or sex in the restaurant or the guest will be ejected. Hmmm… Anywhere that must make such stipulations sounds like a place to check out.
It was very cool and authentic. I ate my face off. After paying, the waitress provides everyone with a small cup of sugar to make cotton candy on the machine just outside the front door. Super cool.
We walked back around 4am and passed out.

Am I Actually Getting on Another Flight?
So I’m sitting in the Fort Lauderdale airport once again… It feels like I live here. Maybe I’m finally getting sick of traveling… No… Not a chance. I’m really just sick of airplanes… Mostly because of the people on the airplanes…
Well, I have a lot planned for my Big Apple vacation, but I’m about to board, so you’ll hear from me whenever I can get WiFi.
